After the rain I sat by the window. Mountains emerged slowly from the mist. The path had been there all along; it was simply hidden.
Anxious minds demand an immediate answer, compressing every possibility into one choice that must be made now.
As the tea cooled and the room quieted, I thought that direction sometimes comes not from another round of thinking, but from allowing disturbed water to settle.
Non-action is not doing nothing. It is stopping the motions that add noise so real conditions can appear again.
The path did not exist because I understood it. It waited for the mist to lift. Our work is to rush less and remain clear enough to see it when it appears.
